Scarlett is the heart of our home and the gentle soul behind Hearthside Berners & Doodles. From the moment she joined our family, it was clear she carried something special — a calm presence, an intuitive spirit, and a sweetness that draws everyone close. She is fully AKC registered Bernese Mountain Dog.

She is incredibly intelligent and eager to learn, responding to guidance with focus and grace. Well-trained and attentive, Scarlett moves through our busy home with patience and steadiness, always aware, always connected.

But what makes her truly extraordinary is her heart. She adores our children — following them from room to room, laying nearby during homework, and offering quiet comfort during both giggles and hard days. Her gentleness isn’t trained — it’s who she is.

Scarlett is currently working toward becoming a therapy dog in my psychotherapy practice, The Therapy Room- Mind and Wellness, where her calm presence will help clients feel safe and at ease as they walk through difficult seasons. Her ability to sit quietly, lean in softly, and simply be present is a gift.

She is affectionate without being overwhelming, loyal without being demanding, and strong yet endlessly tender — everything we love about the Bernese Mountain Dog breed.

Scarlett is not only a beautiful representation of her breed; she is a cherished member of our family. And the gentle, loving qualities she carries are exactly what we hope to pass on to the puppies she raises here in our home.

The sire of our Bernedoodle puppies is a beautiful, fully AKC-registered smaller Standard Poodle with a stunning merle phantom coat that truly turns heads. His coloring is striking — rich, dimensional, and unique — but what makes him special goes far beyond appearance.

He is incredibly sweet-natured, affectionate, and deeply people-oriented. Raised on a family farm, he thrives in the presence of children and other animals, moving through his environment with a calm, friendly confidence. He loves being part of daily life — whether that’s playing outdoors, staying close to his people, or simply relaxing nearby.

Standard Poodles are known for their exceptional intelligence, trainability, and loyal temperament, and he embodies those qualities beautifully. He is attentive, eager to please, and carries a gentle steadiness that pairs so naturally with Scarlett’s nurturing spirit.

While he does not live in our home, he comes from a loving, well-cared-for environment and was thoughtfully chosen for his health, temperament, and structure. We selected him intentionally to complement Scarlett — both in personality and quality — to produce puppies that are intelligent, affectionate, and deeply family-oriented.

Together, they bring the best of both worlds: the loyal heart of the Bernese Mountain Dog and the bright, loving nature of the Standard Poodle.

When families begin researching Bernese Mountain Dog and Poodle crosses, they often see terms like F1, F1b, and multigenerational. These simply describe how the puppy was bred.

What Does F1 Mean?

Our puppies are F1 Bernedoodles, meaning they are a first-generation cross between two purebred parents:

• An AKC-registered Bernese Mountain Dog
• An AKC-registered Poodle

Each puppy is approximately 50% Bernese Mountain Dog and 50% Poodle.

This is the original and most foundational Bernedoodle pairing.

Why We Chose an F1 Pairing

We intentionally chose to pair two carefully selected, health-tested purebred dogs because we value:

An F1 cross combines two distinct purebred lines, which can support strong hybrid vigor — often contributing to overall robustness and balanced structure.
